Four Women of Color create a ritual of tears for celebration and healing.

Sippin’ began as a 10 minute play, premiering at Frida Kahlo Theater Festival in 2017.

In June 2020, Gilbert was published by Living Justice Press, in “Colorizing Restorative Justice,” with a chapter entitled, “Passing the Cup of Vulnerability: Offering Vulnerability as a Challenge to White Fragility through the Elements of Circle.” Excerpts of the play were featured in this essay. This book contains works by various Restorative Justice practitioners, to purchase a copy click here.

In November 2020, Gilbert produced an audio play of Sippin.

In summer of 2021, Gilbert with Kieran Gopaul, Executive Produced a short film of the story. Directed and Co Produced by Rosa Navarrete.

This film has been made possible by a grant from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, awarded to Gilbert Salazar, a contributing author to Colorizing Restorative Justice, published by Living Justice Press.

The film heads into Post Production, fall of 2021.
