Four Women of Color create a ritual of tears for celebration and healing.
Sippin’ began as a 10 minute play, premiering at Frida Kahlo Theater Festival in 2017.
In June 2020, Gilbert was published by Living Justice Press, in “Colorizing Restorative Justice,” with a chapter entitled, “Passing the Cup of Vulnerability: Offering Vulnerability as a Challenge to White Fragility through the Elements of Circle.” Excerpts of the play were featured in this essay. In November 2020, Gilbert produced an audio play of Sippin.

In summer of 2021, Gilbert with Kieran Gopaul, Executive Produced a short film of the story. Directed and Co Produced by Rosa Navarrete.
This film has been made possible by a grant from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, awarded to Gilbert Salazar, a contributing author to Colorizing Restorative Justice, published by Living Justice Press.
The film heads into Post Production, fall of 2021.
